Reels are Scottish dances in which couples dance with each other and with others in their set or line to music and to particular steps and turns.

An example of one of the popular reels – the foursome – is shown in the video link above.

The dances are enormous fun to learn and only get better as you go on.

Reeling is a family and community event for all ages – primary and secondary school children can take part, if accompanied by their parents.

We are very lucky to have an experienced teacher – Jack Smith – to take us through the basic steps and get us dancing in New Cross Gate.

Our introductory session is scheduled for Wednesday 17th October 2018 from 8.15pm to 10pm in the Old Hall at All Saints Community Centre, 105 New Cross Road, London SE14 5DJ.

The entrance is on Monson Road – the gated road next to All Saints Church – on your right approaching from New Cross Road.

The introductory session will be free of charge.  Thereafter, we anticipate charging £5 for adults and £3 for children per session.  There may be a discount if you wear a kilt!
